The Cost of Holidaying in Europe
In the last year the value of
sterling has plummeted, reaching a new all-time low against the euro
just a couple of months ago. At the time some experts were predicting
sterling would reach as low as 70 euro cents to the pound, but since
then there has been something of a recovery, and the exchange rate is
now just about 1.1 euros to the pound.
Compared to last year, then, holidaying in Europe is
significantly more expensive, compared to last month, however, now might
be a good time to book your holiday. It’s difficult to predict what will
happen to the sterling in the next few months, but the general feeling
is that the euro zone is strong at the moment, and with the holiday
season bringing money into European economies, now might be the best
time to book.
Another advantage of holidaying at the moment is that
many companies are putting on particularly good offers to try and entice
people to travel. If you look around and are willing to go to a few
places that are slightly less well known you may well be able to find a
great location for not very much money at all.
Another good thing is that travel insurance, a
necessity for anyone wishing to head abroad, is particularly cheap at
the moment as relatively new players on the financial scene are
struggling to make an impact and are, for that reason, offering some
exceptionally good holiday deals.
Finally, one of the best things about holidaying abroad this summer is the cost of cheap flights
-
villa accommodation -
all inclusive hotels - throughout the
Mediterranean, especially in Paphos, Cyprus where you can search for
cheap villa holidays and find a real bargain.
Of course, with the heat wave as it is at the moment
in Cyprus and long term weather forecasts promising a very hot season to
come, you should head for your nearest airport and take a flight abroad as
now might be the best time to book your vacation
